It is imperitive that everyone begin to conserve water. Lawn watering is now restricted to once a week. All residents and businesses east of Washington Street will be allowed to water on Saturdays. The residents to the west can water on Sundays. No one should water after 10:00 a. m. For more details, see the Drought Alert Bulletin.
KAUFMAN 20/20
Grow or not grow? New fire truck or fix water lines? Life is full of choices. If we are not wise and see these decisions coming at us down the road, it seems someone will always make the choices for us.
That is why the Council is asking for a Kaufman 20/20 visioning project. Let's get as many as the citizens involved as we can, let them look toward the future together, and make some fundamental decisions that will prepare Kaufman for its future. So get involved. Learn as much as you can about Kaufman 20/20 and plan to attend the May 11th community meeting at the High School. Visit the Kaufman 20/20 page to learn more.

KKB Green space
The City Council has approved a plan submitted by Keep Kaufman Beautiful to improve the empty lot south of City Hall. The City has already planted grass. KKB is going to come in and plant gardens and construct a gazebo. Let's watch it develop. Thank Board Members Lisa Parker, Shana Holder, Karla Chandler, Elaine Marusak, Mary Cline and Janis Lindsey when you see them.
"Kaufman Progress"
Coming this month is the first community City produced newsletter in Kaufman. the new "Kaufman Progress" will be distributed in the utility bills and posted here on the web site. The purpose of the newsletter is to keep citizens informed about what is going on in City Hall. Items to be covered will be how we are doing financially, what progress we are making on capital improvements, any new programs implemented and generally items of current interest like the stories you find on this page. |
